Why Little Andrew Isn't Keen on UFOs

Why is 13-year-old Andrew not interested in UFOs? Well, he's been a little busy:

Now there's a fellow who knows what he wants. I'd suggest he was put down now to save the taxpayers a lot of money down the road, but I have to admire a 13-year-old who already has his career path in mind.

One of my all time greates pet peeves. Yes let's blame that which entertains MILLIONS harmlessly for the actions of a handful of loose screws.

Some people are just broken, they're built wrong. There's this ridiculous notion that all human beings are worthy, that all are inherently good and that given the right amount of effort, anyone can be saved. In short, we can fix anything.

I remember her telling Barbara Walters about how she didn't approve of the word masturbating in the Prince song Darlin Nikki on air at prime time hours...... Prince can't say it on a b-side song, but she can on regular tv at primetime hours? I wonder what she thinks of Bill Clinton. Thanks to him and Monica, kids got to hear about masturbating with cigars.... She ever put a black label on Bill's head? No. I don't have a problem with black labels btw, it's the hypocrisy and double standards that get to me.

SOME of the issue is parent's don't want to take responsibility for their kids actions, therefore they give the responsibility to artist, like Marilyn Manson, Judas Priest, Ozzy, or what ever the flavor of the month game or rap artists there are.

When I was young, my father would let me watch the goriest of horror movies, but tell me to leave the room when bewbies or a lot of cussing were shown. Slitting throats ok, bewbies and certain words aren't. The news shows violence, that's ok, yet video games can't. It's odd and confusing the rules of the normal conditioned mind. It often contradicts and makes little sense to me.

That reminds me of something I stumbled upon last week. I was flipping 'round the dial and came a to a documentary on (of all things) the porn industry. No T&A, it was all about the business and the people but also society and the way we treat them. Then they cut to an interview with this male porn star and he said something very interesting (paraphrasing):

"Everyday people come home from work and turn on the news and what do they see? Murder, death, crap blowing up. And weather. You won't see a story about sex though, unless it's a scandal and even then you won't SEE anything, it's taboo. Think about it: how many times are you going to kill another human being in your life? Probably not even once. Everyone has sex though, yet we can't show it or talk about it. That's why our society is so screwed up."

People made a big fuss over Janet's nipple briefly and only partially showing during the super bowl. Their kids were watching after all! Yet, they couldn't care less about the examples that their kids see depicted by the sport itself. People make millions doing a ego centric, competitive sport that is so brutal you basically need a padded suit of armor to play and people often get hurt. Beer advertisements abound. Nipples bad, even on cheerleaders ironically. Bashing skulls for money, ego, and beer sponsors = good though. If I had a kid, I would be more worried about what the game and marketing depicts than what a woman's body does. Bodies can be shown so long as they are being harmed is almost the modo of the brain washed non questioning people who just parrot what preachers, teachers, parents and politicians spray.

I find it amusing that Tipper and Al, once excoriated by the music industry and Hollywood for her 80s crusade against pop culture, is now the recipient of millions from that same Hollywood crowd. Way to stay on message, Gores.

Blaming someone else is always easier than self-examination. I thought it was interesting that the article said nothing at all about the parents.

My father was a preacher, and I was raised the same way. We watched Chiller Theater every Friday night - both movies - and I never heard a bad word about it. After Michael Myers butchers a dozen people in Halloween, I had to turn my head because some broad stood up in bed and exposed her breasts. Bizarre.

The worst incongruity was when Dad would make me turn my head during a sex scene, but not make me cover my ears. I assure you, what I was imagining was far more graphic (and entertaining) than anything the director had in mind.

It's coming, CapnG. If she gets out of the primaries, and the Democrats keep the MoveOn idiots in line, she's in like Flynn. I plan to do my damnedest, but my guy doesn't have a chance under the current conditions.
