Default Stephen Bassett: cloud cuckoo land??

Okaay ... just listened (actually still listening to it ... going a bit red in the face at the moment, and am not entirely certain I'll be able to make it all the way through) to the Culture of Contact interview with Stephen Bassett. Blimey ... I don't know where to start really. But I will pose this not at all innocent question:

Is he mad or just totally self-deluded???

Shoot ... just gobsmackingly stupid stupid stupid stupidness. Everything that comes out of his mouth in this interview just smacks of self-delusion and/or naivete.

Does he really think that after 9/11, after all the horrors in Iraq, Afghanistan and a further (possible) incursion into Iran that suddenly in 2009, all the lovely politicians who voted for all the death and misery are suddenly going to go all fluffy and bunny like and tell the world that 'yes there are aliens' ... and that everything will be ok with the world, and we're going to forgive and forget and just get on with playing with the new hi-tech toys we'll get from disclosure.

Rant rant rant ... unbelievable nonsense. And his comments about John McCain .... maverick ... what a load of bull. He married into a criminal family, is thoroughly bought and sold, and is a 100% liar (anti-special interests my bloody foot ... been kicking a door since I started listening to this bloody interview ).

Does he really have the even the slightest inkling of how politics works in the US???

Argghhh ... take a deep breath and count to 10 ... and remember that this time next year, he'll show himself, in front of the whole world to the 1 billion carat idiot that this interview proves him to be (if he isn't ... I'll eat my trousers, socks and a small mound of dirt from Stephen Bassetts own garden).

Ok bugger ... just seen that he's on Binnall of America as well ... oh goody ... that'll really make my podcast year. Bet Tim Binnall was really 'psyched' for this interview (or ... 'tweaked' as he's been using recently ... arrghhh).

schtick ... just going to go and make a Stephen Bassett shaped voodoo doll and then stick pins into its most sensitive areas.

p.s. sorry given up ... can't do it ... my head is hurting waay too much ... not even Sir Jeremy of Vaeni can cure this one ... now wheres that sewing machine ... fabric ... sew human shaped pieces together ... right, now ... pins ... one, two, three ... six, seven, eight ... now ... internet ... pictures of Stephen Bassett ... ahh here we are ... file -> print ... scissors ... cut out face ... now glue on to body ... right ... face holding nicely ... good ... now pins ... acquire target: Stephen Bassetts most sensitive dangly bits ... and begin: stab stab stab stab stab stab stab ... stab stab stab stab stab stab stab ... ad infinitum ...

Yeah, I typically listen to most Binnall interviews, but there was no way I was going to do that.

No ... you're still far too young for that

Anyway sorry about that rant, folks, therapeutic though it was. I just couldn't take any more of Bassett's nonsense. I think people have been far too lenient with him ... and it may be time to start fighting back against such mindbogglng crassness. To me it just makes people who are interested in the UFO phenomena look like cranks ... and some of them I have to say are tarnishing the rest of us with that very brush.

Just got an email from Steve's PRG email list. According to the email, Google has now blocked his 'open letter to Hillary Clinton' about ufo's.

Here's an excerpt, he said he is now taking legal action:

"Within 36 hours the PRG and American Chronicle Open Letter to Senator Hillary Clinton pages were at or near the top of both the Google and Yahoo search results.

At that time the Google search listings for the Open Letter to Senator Hillary Clinton published by PRG were stripped (or blocked) from the Google search results. Fortunately, this did not take place with the Yahoo search returns.

Efforts by PRG to reach Google to determine why this had happened have been fruitless.

Blocking the Google search engine from listing the web pages which contain the PRG Open Letter to Senator Hillary Clinton is a pure act of political censorship.

Given Google's behavior as regards its presence in the People's Republic of China - compliance with severe content restrictions - this act of censorship raises deeply serious questions.

First and foremost it raises the question of what other pages containing political speech not acceptable to Google are being blocked from Google search listings within the United States?

PRG is seeking pro bono legal assistance from 1st Amendment specialist attorneys in order to open a dialogue with Google to resove this matter."

If I had to guess, this is not a Google censorship issue and isn't part of some conspiracy, but who knows? Maybe someone with vast knowledge of search engine optimization somehow cut Steve's letter of at the pass or it could be Google has some type viral marketing filter, but who knows. I'm not sure posting an 'open letter' on a random website is an effective strategy to get anything accomplished, but I could be proven wrong, in fact I hope I am

The moral of the story, Steve is an intense guy!

I'm listening to a recent interview with Steve Bassett and he's giving Jeff Peckmen the thumbs up. Someone should him the Metatron Harmonizers link.

I heard a recent Bassett interview on the paranormal network. In the past I had heard him talk about a multi step program that would cost under 1 million dollars that would definitely get disclosure if he could just get the funding. I think this plan included a front page ad in the New York Times as well as a press conference.

Guess who he formulated this plan with according to this interview?

Alfred Webre

The more I hear Steve's interviews and check out his website, the more I seriously doubt there is any way he has the know how to actually be involved in any future disclosure. Aside from things like the ETH that Jeremy pointed out etc... he's just not for lack of a better word, "efficient" or "focussed" enough IMO. Check out his A Beautiful Mind esque website, totally scattered like some genius physic professor who doesn't know how to do laundry. He definitely has energy though and I do give him a lot of credit, he has dedicated his life to this and is actively trying to organize something to the best of his ability unlike many of us.

However, having Webre proclaim intergalactic peace at the Press Club and trying to get the Wikipedia guy to put exopolitics back up probably ain't gonna do much though IMO.

Why do these people always ask for money to achieve these ends? What is a million dollars going to do that over 50 years of trying has failed to accomplish? It's a drop in the bucket in the scheme of things.

Kind of reminds me of when an over zealous new person starts at a job and starts throwing out a bunch of suggestions which have all already been considered over the years.

While I don't think disclosure if possible, will be a clean cut obvious thing that happens in my lifetime, if I were to dedicate my life to figure out how to induce this state, I think it's best to do heavy research on what has already been done before and figure out why certain things failed and what steps have had some success and study other similar movements in the country and whey they succeeded or failed.

I think that's got to be the ground zero starting point. IMO calling for congressional hearings ain't gonna be the first step based on the past history, no matter what evidence you give a politician or who is in government, and that's assuming someone some where in government even knows what the hell is happening!

I think at the end of the day, it's more about the mass consciousness/public opinion than anything. So anything that can sway public opinion over the long term I think is where you have to start. Hell, we went to a war based on the manipulation of public opinion.

Many people no matter what you show them won't believe this UFO stuff, so converting the public on a mass scale and getting them fired up to actually take action is a mammoth probably unrealistic task at this point, particularly with so many other seemingly more important issues like the war in Iraq etc.... Most people are not like us and don't care even if they believe

I think having the Vatican proclaim it's okay to believe in this stuff, is one of the many things that needs to happen. If what Jeff says, that our belief in them effects the reality, then in this paradigm only by getting the masses to believe in it does it possibly even effect us.

One thing I've always thought would be interesting if it could be pulled off, would be to have a million man UFO march on the mall in DC. I don't think this would have much impact if the mass public wasn't already fired up about this issue though. The press would probably just intersperse footage of tin foil hats etc....

Maybe strategically figuring out how to engage the academic groups that fund scientific research is the way to go? I'm sure this has been tried, but maybe there a ways to grow an effort like this. As John Poindexter said in his speech at the X Conference, there is a massive disconnect between what the NSF actually funds versus what the public actually values or believes, of course that doesn't mean these people believe publically. Believing openly in UFO's ain't gonna get you that prestigious job at the firm! But make if you make believing in UFO's is cool then maybe

I wonder if running a bunch of PSA's with famous people would sway opinion. It certainly worked with drugs

Oh well!
