Hi Guys,
World War III has already occurred during what we term as the "Cold War" between the United States and the Soviet Union. (besides secondary players in Europe and Israel) During the proxy wars fought in Latin America and South East Asia. This includes "The Forgotten War in Korea" and "Vietnam" in the 1960's-1970's. (including Cambodia with the Karmaia Rouge) Tens of Millions of innocent people besides the combatants themselves have died probably equal if not more of the casualties during WWII. This also includes the war that the Soviet Union had in Afghanistan. We all know that the American CIA backed the Afghani fighters with weapons. (Osama bin Laden comes to mind) War World 3 has come and gone, what your prosing above MagentaCandle is World War 4.

Oh dear ... I can't imagine any of these countries taking the US on unless they have been attacked first by the US or its allies.
I lived in the UK (my country of birth) in the 1980s and I think it was much scarier then than it is today [although the thought of Israel and/or the US attacking Iran is getting pretty much up there in the scary-o-meter stakes]. The UK would have been in the middle of the shooting match if the US and the USSR decided to fire a few nukes at each other just to make sure that they worked. I'm pretty certain that the UK would have been left a radioactive cinder if it all went pear-shaped. As I said above, I have no worries about any of the countries starting anything. And anyway, who has started most of the "wars" in the last 50 years ... hmmm ... oh yeah, the United States. I think the rest of world has more to fear from the US and her so called ally, Israel. So ... nothing much to see here ... move along ![]()

Quote:
Obviously the Iraq War is a war the US started, but how will you have the US starting the Korean War and the Vietnam War? And even the first Gulf War, surely Iraq bore some responsibility for invading and annexing Kuwait in the first place. There's a difference between escalating a conflict and starting it. I agree with you on the rest of your post though ![]() |

With the election of Obama, we'll probably face a war with Pakistan. He hasn't made a big secret of that. We're already bombing inside the northern borders. Pakistan is an ally of China. Ouch. From there, who's to say?
We're already setting up diplomatic relations with Iran in an almost abrupt turn around. Another turn around? Diplomatic talks with North Korea. Both have at least been minimally allied with Russia, Iran much more so lately. I think we have to look for more big changes as the lame duck administration hasn't proved it's worth in the last eight years. "Change." Obama's ticket, but I'm not so sure it's good for the country in the long run. Time will tell. |

The single most dangerous country in the world (eccept the US,itself..) is Pakistan...
It's an extemely unstabile dictatorial regime which posses nuclear weapons! Their Intelligence agency,ISI,has proven links to the Taliban. It's really a No-win situation were the most dangerous scenario, ironically, would be democracy!!

WWW III if it happens (let's hope that this is not an option) will look something like this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO (plus Israel) Vs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shangha...n_Organization (plus Syria and others)

As the overall standard of living improves around the world, the prospect of a global war is becoming increasingly unlikely.

Sorry I believe wars between Big Nations is no longer an issue. What would China or America gain from a war Nuclear Destruction.Future wars i believe between bigger nations will be found through the stock market if China really wanted to hurt America is could flood America with even more cheaper goods Home grown America companies would really suffer then not worth thinking about for the average America family
