This will be the first time in a looooong time that someone deeply associated with the worst aspects of the CIA, connected to Death of JFK and MLK, or gave substantial cover the cocaine trade is not running for president.

Maybe things are looking up, no matter who you vote for.

Ron Paul is my man, but he has no chance...sadly no chance at all. Limited federal government, removing ourselves from foreign entanglements, upholding the constitution, and increasing personal liberty just doesn't seem to be a platform people want to support anymore.

...especially not the CIA, the military industrial complex, and the many thousands of politicians who get rich on the status quo...Nope, not a chance in the world.

It will take power away from to many people. Its really not the people who are standing in his way, its the people already in positions of power.

Ron Paul would not survive the election.

However I do agree with him on al ot of stuff. I think the shift in American policy would have negative impact on the rest of the world.

Its too bad that as a nation we have become so cynical and nihilistic that we cannot look at the election of a new government with some amount of optimism. Surely, there is some way for us to be a bit more optimistic about the possibilities for the future.

If there is no hope, why stay? If there is no representation that is untainted, why are you not blowing shit up in violent revolution? If you honestly believe anyone who represents a fundamental change to the system would be "dealt with", why vote at all?

Underdog - Sit and really think about what Ron Paul stands for (Which isn't necessarily bad). Then think about if he actually implemented his plan what the ripple effect of his actions would be around the world. It would be earth shattering. It would be on the level of full disclosure. It would effect every single facet of living in America and countries abroad.
