DMT: Encountering Entities

One of my greatest hopes is that when we do actually get a chance to reverse engineer alien technology maybe we will work out a way to search for words that have less that 4 letters So, sorry if this has been discussed many times before.

Anyway I was wandering if anyone knows about or has even tried the drug DMT (its a psychedelic tryptamine)? I remember reading about this a few years ago and compared to any other drug users often had very similar experiences. Most psychedelic substances cause the user to 'trip' but DMT seemed to allow the user to come into contact with some sort of entities.

The fact that this was a persistent and predictable experience always intrigued me.

DMT (dimethyltryptamine) is the most powerful and fast-acting of the tryptamine class of hallucinogens. After smoking DMT users regularly report fantastic trips to other dimensions and conversations with intelligent alien life forms. Meyer outlines DMT usage, pharmacology, mythology and occult application, including shamanic uses. He also presents fascinating anecdotal material regarding DMT "alien contact." Materials from DMT researchers Terence McKenna, Gracie and Zarkov, and dozens of other correspondences are included, providing clues to deciphering the DMT "hyperspace" state.

It would be great if anyone has anything to say about this drug. Anyone tried it, or know anyone who has tried it?

I've taken it in Peru (in the form of ayahuasca) w/ a shaman several times. It's a life-altering sort of experience, but too long to completely describe from scratch. I brought along a journal and filled many pages of it trying to describe my experiences.

But any details you'd like to know about it, ask away.

3. If you took DMT more than once did you note any recurrence or consistency of the 'trip'? If so was there some element of predictability as far as your experience with each ingestion of the drug?

4. If you encountered the 'entities' reported in so many DMT experiences did you get any indication of who or what they were? Do you believe them to be 'real'? (not just a hallucination). Did you communicate with them?

If you haven't already read it, I highly recommend you look at DMT: The Spirit Molecule by Rick Strassman. Looks like they are making a documentary about the book as well.

It contains a good number of user reports from a controlled environment with known and varying dosage levels of pharmaceutical DMT administered via intravenous injection.

Interesting questions, here goes...

1. As a forewarning, there are gonna be tons of people who tell you things about psychedelics, some good and some bad. You should really only bother listening to people who have been there. People who talk about it without ever experiencing it are really like a bunch of guys in a chat room talking about what being in love is like, though none of them have ever actually been in love. Some would say it's great, some would say it's shit, but it's really all just imagination because some things can only be known by experiencing them first-hand.

DMT was the first psychedelic I tried, but I've tried LSD and Salvia since then. They are definitely different from one another, but still related. I'd compare it to different species of the same type of animal.

DMT is the most intense, in my opinion.

In my experience, there is something that all these substances have in common. It is related to the fact that there are things in the ordinary world that I've never questioned, that I just assume to be solid and true and black-and-white. Psychedelics show just how wrong I am, and depending on how well I take this information it will be an ecstatic or a terrifying ride.

There were many experiences but I specifically mention the ones with multiple witnesses, because they'd probably be more interesting from an outside observer's point of view.

3. That is one of the most interesting things about not just DMT, but psychedelics in general. There are some vague similarities, but by and large each experience is very different. In fact, in the second ceremony nothing happened at all! I just lied there for 5 or 6 hours wondering why nothing was happening. And then in the very next ceremony I had the most terrifying experience of my life.

This reminds me of a Castaneda quote: "The secret of the sorcerer is that he knows how to get to the nagual, but once he gets there, your guess is as good as his as to what takes place."

4. I communicated with an entity that apparently lived in a symbiotic relationship with my body. Our thoughts and emotions were entangled somehow, but I recognized it as not me. I also recognized that the shaman was trying to "exorcise" this entity out of my body, because it was feeding off of me in some way.

I don't believe that the entity was real, and I don't believe that the entity was imaginary. I don't see any way to verify either of those positions, so I think it's better not to take a position. All I can say is that it appeared to be real.

My experience did not involve snakes or any of the typical DMT creatures that you hear about.

I just read your other thread and WOW.

Do you know if people ever get flashbacks from taking DMT?

Also what kind of preparations, if any, were you and the group taught about in case of a for lack of a better word " "bad trip"? Are the Shamans able or willing to pull somebody out of a negative experience for example?
